CDL Events in September

There are many exciting things happening at CDL and around Mozambique this month!

  • CDL is privileged to have Dr. Jim Howard teaching New Testament Theology and Dr. Fred Sharpe teaching Biblical Leadership & Ethics September 11-22. The Biblical Leadership and Ethics course will help our students and church leaders minister with a Christian worldview.
  • Dr. Howard and Dr. Sharpe will also lead a pastors’ conference called, “Creating a Healthy Christian Culture in the Midst of a Secular Culture,” September 17-19.
  • September 18-20 Dr. Isaias Uaene, Executive Director of CDL, will be facilitating training on Church Pragmatics—helping leaders enhance their skills on church planning and development. This will be done in partnership with Bellevue Baptist Church and Pioneer Missions Global in mission target areas of the Baptist Convention of Mozambique—Manhiça, Chimoio and Nampula.

Please pray for anointing by the Holy Spirit in all these ministries. Please pray also for partnerships being developed between the Mozambican Baptist Convention and Pioneer Missions Global/Bellevue under the leadership of Dr. Wade & Barbara Akins.

We are excited to say thousands of people came out to our evangelism festival we participated in last weekend! In addition to free entertainment and social services, everyone in attendance heard the gospel of Jesus Christ!

Pastor Training at CDL

Last week Dr. Richard Hamlet of Memphis, Tennessee, USA, taught several sessions at CDL. Dr. Hamlet, president and CEO of Global Ministries Foundation, trains pastors all over the world.

His focus at CDL was to train local pastors in the practice of expository preaching. With the help of translator Dr. Isaias Uaene, founder and executive director of CDL, Dr. Hamlet instructed over 50 people. This training will allow these pastors to teach the Word more effectively.

Gospel Festival Coming to Mozambique

CDL is excited to be partnering with Global Ministries Foundation (GMF) to bring a gospel festival to Mozambique!

GMF sponsors gospel fests all over the world year round, and this summer they will be coming to Maputo. The festival will take place on July 28, 2018. It will include free food, entertainment, and community services. Evangelist Dr. Richard Hamlet and his wife, Ginger Hamlet, will share the gospel with all who attend! All who make professions of faith will be connected to local churches in Maputo for further discipleship.

Please pray for the people of Maputo to be moved by the Holy Spirit to accept Jesus and become followers of Christ!
